The 3 of Clubs

Sunshine and Bonsai..

It doesn’t get better, or does it? It certainly does and today proved it as today all 3 Bonsai clubs on this beautiful island came together and spent an excellent day tapping into the endless knowledge of Mr Willow Bogger himself Peter Snart. If this ain’t progress in the Irish bonsai scene I don’t know what is. It’s just a pity we couldn’t stay and do the workshop tomorrow, but we will be there for the full weekend next time.

Having said that I need to thank Ian Young for his hospitality today and his wife for them scrumptious rolls and biscuits nom nom nom ūüėú

At least we can return the favour next month 27 June for our first Bonsai meeting in Balbriggan Community Center.

Thanks again guys and gals and we will see you next month.

Here’s an odd one :)

Owen's Bonsai

I can honestly say I don’t know if it will work or not, but I will give it a dam good go. I have been trolling tru the net to find some other salix caprea/goat willow bonsai but there isn’t much there. Maybe there to awkward, maybe there ugly when done, I don’t know but I will find out in a year or 2. Anyway here is a few pics and we can take it from there.

Obviously the exciting main branches will we brought closer to the trunk but for the moment it looks vigorous and healthy so plenty of sun and water, and who knows what next year will bring.

If anyone has had any dealings with these willows and would like to share there experience please do not hesitate to get in touch.
